From the very inception of SeaBird, it was clear that it could never be successful in the marketplace unless it was to be made as safe as possible-so safe that even those with no underwater knowledge or experience would be able to safely operate SeaBird with a minimum of training.
The result has been an underwater vessel offering unparalleled layers of protection.

Collision Avoidance
SeaBird comes with a sonar system that displays potential underwater obstacles to protect you during conditions of reduced visibility. Choose from a variety of upgrades including a GPS feed (available with datalink package) with underwater terrain database.

Collision Protection
SeaBird houses a proprietary energy absorbing crumple zone to protect the sub's pressurized section in the event of a collision. SeaBird also makes use of Kevlar (the same material that is used in bullet-proof vests) in the forward portion of its shell to protect the pressure section from damage.

Life Support
SeaBird uses an advanced, novel system, developed within AquaVenture WaterCrafts that would supply breathable air to its occupants for at least 8 hours, in the event of an emergency. Though extremely unlikely, if ever necessary, SeaBird includes an external port that will accept a standard SCUBA tank, which can extend breathable air for its occupants indefinitely, with tanks traded out at suitable intervals.

Other Features
**Positive buoyancy means that if the towing vessel ever quits towing, for whatever reason, SeaBird will automatically surface.
**The pressurization limits of the hull's steel hull pressure section are four times allowable depth, a safety margin higher than any known submersible.
**A computer monitors all electronic systems and warns the pilot of most out of tolerance parameters. The computer will also warn the pilot of most potential pilot errors.
